Emeritus Institute

The Saddleback College Emeritus Institute was established to promote lifelong learning by

providing academically rigorous, mentally stimulating, socially engaging, and health improving
courses for older adults throughout south Orange County. With 6,000 enrolled seniors, it is one
of the fastest growing academic programs at Saddleback College. All Emeritus Institute
curriculum is approved by the Chancellor’s Office of the California Community College system
and is built to spur on enrollees’ mental and physical longevity. As the generations of
burgeoning baby boomers become senior citizens, the Emeritus Institute continues to change
and offer challenging and rewarding classes designed for the older adult.
Currently, we provide more than 200 tuition-free courses at over thirty locations between Lake
Forest and San Clemente, while also partnering with regional organizations to serve the many
needs of older adults in our area. We invite you to be a part of the excitement of lifelong
